Job Description - To act under the supervision of the Orthopedic Consultant in the provision of an Orthopedic service and to support the Orthopedic Consultants/ specialist in their duties. - To assess patients from the Emergency Department. - To attend daily ward rounds with the Orthopedic team. - To review patients on a regular basis in accordance with the plan of care made by the attending consultant and inform the consultant of any issues or problems. - Document review findings in clinical notes in a timely and legible manner. - To cover Operating Room duties as assigned. - To attend to pre and post operative work. - To write orders as required for e.g., Radiology, Laboratory. - To discharge patients on consultants’ instructions and write discharge summaries. - To respond to any adverse occurrences e.g., injuries, falls, sudden illnesses etc., suffered by patients, visitors, or staff. - To contribute to quality improvement; risk management initiatives and policy development so that the overall Orthopedic Service is of the highest quality and reflective of best practice. - To participate in work related projects at Taiba Hospital. - To adhere to Hospital Policies and Procedures e.g., JCI, Code Blue, infection control, work hours and time back. - To comply with Health and Safety Regulations, ensuring safe working practices in a safe working environment. - To undertake any other duties that may be required, which could include assisting medical colleagues throughout the hospital and acting as a resource for more junior colleagues. - Report and discuss all unusual findings, complication, or alterations in the management plan, with the Specialist and Consultant. - Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of your knowledge, skills, and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical. - Must work in shifts. - Assist in covering for unexpected absence. - Handling unscheduled emergency cases. - Participation in Registrar on call Rota and to provide cover in exceptional circumstances for colleagues’ absence. Duties to include but not be limited to: - Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments. - Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Works independently, performs all routine and specialized Radiography procedures, and associated responsibilities, as dictated by the workload in the roistered area. Ensuring the necessary patient care is provided to patients of all ages. - Acts independently in the assessment of referrals for Radiography examinations, taking full responsibility to reduce unnecessary ionizing radiation exposure of patients and utilizing skills to assess a patient’s condition, often acute, decide on an appropriate method to obtain a diagnostic image from a range of options. - Adheres to departmental and applicable organizational policies, procedures and regulations relevant to the Radiography patient care team. Maintains accurate and concise records of all imaging received by the patient using the appropriate systems. - Adheres to and promotes compliance with the hospital’s radiation safety and protection and MRI safety policies and associated codes of practice and takes appropriate action where non-compliance is evident. - Supports the Supervisor – Radiography to manage and maintain a high level of expertise and reducing faults/issues effectively to guarantee the safe operations of the Radiography equipment, ensuring an efficient flow and optimal utilization of resources. - Check the X-ray request to verify the procedure recommended by the physician. - The technician should select immobilization device, when necessary, to prevent the patient from moving during the procedure and also to ensure the patient's safety and comfort. - All X-ray films should be labelled clearly with the patient's name, ID and hospital number. - Confidentially of the patient, records should be maintained at all times. - Before preparing contrast media for administration, information should be obtained to determine if the patient could be at risk from an adverse reaction. - Monitor the patient's condition, i.e., vital signs, I.V. fluid, oxygen, etc., whenever required. - An emergency trolley should be available all the time to react instantly for an emergency situation, if happened. - At all times, the technician should preserve the dignity of the patient. - A full explanation should be given to the patient, i.e., diet restrictions, preparatory medications, prior to an imaging procedure. - The radiology technician should use X-ray equipment and accessories, employing techniques and procedures, in accordance with accepted safety standards and codes of practice. - Wear a personal monitoring device while on duty, reviewing and evaluating individual occupational exposure reports. - Reports any malfunctions of the equipment to the attending radiologist and the chief of technicians. - Inspects and cleans screens and cassettes, processing exposed films. - Monitors and maintains stock levels for consumables relative to the service.

Principal Duties: - Performing the professional duties of a sub-specialist in accordance with the delineation of the scope of care and privileges as recommended by the Chief of department and approved by the Credentialing Committee. - Performing his / her duties in the outpatient clinic according to CPP of KFMC OPD. - Providing the needed care to his/her patients in the wards. - Performing the needed procedures according to the privileging. - Providing consultation services to the in and out patient services in his/her area of expertise. - Sharing in the on-call duties as per the duty schedule according to the KFMC CPP. - Supervising the work of the assistant and/or associate consultants, professional development of the junior physicians and interns, and provides his/ her evaluation of their work at the request of the Chief of Service. - Assuring performing medical documentation and charting in eligible and professional way and to supervise the documentation of the rest of the team. - Communicating clearly and effectively with colleagues and patients. - Working as a member of the team and to share administrative responsibilities. - Undertaking administrative duties whenever needed associated with the care of his/her patients under the direction of the division head. - Providing patient and family education according to patient's status and needs. Educational Requirements: - Successful completion of Sub-Specialty Fellowship training approved by SCHS and acceptable to KFMC with a minimum of one (1) year of Sub-Specialty training in one of the recognized countries in Saudi Arabia - Certification by the appropriate subspecialty, if one exists in the certifying country. - Training and post certification experience equal to or greater than seven (7) years in a Secondary or Tertiary care facility - Independent practice in the Sub-Specialty Experience Requirements: 3 years working experience in sub-specialty area
